Mark 3:31-34 His mother and his brothers arrived. Standing outside they sent word to him and called him. 32A crowd seated around him told him, "Your mother and your brothers (and your sisters) are outside asking for you." 33But he said to them in reply, "Who are my mother and (my) brothers?" 34And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.
Mark 6:3 Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.
Then [Jesus] went home; 20 and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat. 21 When his family heard it, they went out to restrain him, for people were saying, "He has gone out of his mind."
31 Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, "Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you." 33 And he replied, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" 34 And looking at those who sat around him, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
