Introduction

This is page is intended to help those who wish to celebrate these liturgical days by providing:  1) Background and other historical information which might be helpful to understand the feast; 2) A summary of the theology underling this celebration; 3) A brief exegesis of the readings from Scripture and the other pertinent liturgical texts for the liturgy of the day; and 4) A sample homily. The information below has been provided (for the most part) by seminarians at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in the seminar  "Marian Celebrations in the Roman Calendar."
