Ecumenical Considerations

It is difficult to see how any Christian community that recognizes the divinity of Jesus of Nazareth would not believe that Mary is the Mother of God.  (She is the mother of Jesus; Jesus is God; therefore...)

As Mary brought forth Christ to her world; so we are to be "mothers of Christ" by bring (birthing) Jesus to our world today.

The difficulty with the phrase "Mother of God" lies in the mystery of Christ being one "person" and both God and human at the same time.  Do you think of Mary as Mother of God implying that she is the mother of the Holy Spirit?  of God the Father?  Of YHWH?
